“Turidae” is our mother/daughter duo, with my daughter Mariah Carlson-Kirigin, which alternates between flute with harp and flute with violin. This post is devoted to flute/harp music samples. Our flute/harp duo repertoire is largely Celtic, though we can also play the majority of classical wedding standards. If you are interested in combining the two duos, and alternating between flute/harp and flute/violin, this is also a possibility for indoor or well-sheltered locations with a flat and stable surface. Either duo is available separately for outdoor locations, and the majority of weddings we play are outdoors, so this is definitely an option. The harp is a delicate instrument, but with clear communication, adequate shelter from sun, moisture and wind can be accomplished in most circumstances for outdoor performances.
Starting in the summer of 2014, you may also book a trio of flute, viola, and harp, OR flute, violin and viola, as we will be joined on viola by my younger daughter Clara. Please check back for further blog entries and music samples!
