Flute with Violin is currently my most popular duo option. Versatile repertoire, easy to transport and move around for those outdoor weddings, and a classic, beautiful sound! My most popular flute/violin duo is “Turidae,” with my violinist daughter Mariah  (pronounced too’-ree-day’ – one variation on the word for birds from the thrush family).  (starting in the summer of 2014, we expect to also offer a trio option with my violist daughter Clara!).

Here are a few quotes about our flute/violin duo from previous wedding couples:

~

“The music was exactly as I had imagined and a number of people commented on how nice the music was. The best compliment I got was that my “parents would have loved my choice of music.” While this may not mean much to you, know that it is high praise. After they passed away, the Boston Early Music Festival dedicated their performances to their memory – evidence of their appreciation of high quality music! Thank you so much,” Leah and EJ

“Thank you both for the beautiful music you provided for our ceremony. Many people commented on how terrific it was – especially the special pieces you learned and played for my
family. These extra touches and all of your help made our ceremony so special!  Many thanks,”
Rebecca and Jon

“We are really amazed with your professionalism.  Of all the vendors that we dealt with for our wedding you topped it with your organization, confirmations and professionalism.  We were very happy with all that you did to make our wedding amazing and we will definitely recommend you to friends and family.  Thank you again.”  Nichole and Randy

Below are some brief sound clips of our playing (YouTube links on the right and below). The samples we have currently were recorded during Mariah’s high school years on her previous violin – stay tuned for more recent recordings on the current upgraded violin!

In 2013, Mariah is currently a junior at Vassar College, studying violin with Linda Quan and playing with the Vassar Orchestra as well as several chamber ensembles. She began her musical studies with flute at age 2, moving to piano at 4 and violin at 6, and playing with youth orchestras starting at age 8, including the top level of the Vermont Youth Orchestra throughout high school. She earned her harp as a street musician, playing both violin and flute for tips from ages 8 to 11, until she had earned her harp, and has been playing professionally on both violin and harp ever since.

Mariah is available primarily during the summer months.

I have the great joy of working with other top notch violinists and violists as well, among them Elizabeth Reid and Raymond Malone, featured as a duo in this YouTube recording. More information about Liz, as well as trio recordings with cellist Michael Close, are available on our “Passeri Trio” Page.  Below are Liz and I at a barn wedding just north of Woodstock, photos courtesy of Richard Brown.

“Your music was wonderful!  We had so many complements about it at the wedding.  We think it was a pretty special occasion and you played a big part.  Thank you!”   Kate and Dory

“We were very pleased with your music selections and the performances. We all loved it, and it was nice to meet you in person.  If we ever have a need for your services again I would not hesitate to call on you and I would certainly recommend you to friends and family. Once again, thank you for adding to the joy of our special day. Warm regards,”  Stephanie
